PERSIS M. KARIM was born in the United States to an Iranian father and a French mother. She recently received her Ph.D. in 1998 in comparative literature from the University of Texas at Austin, and currently teaches at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
An Iranian Immigrant, MOHAMMAD MEHDI KHORRAMI has lived in the United States since 1984. He is an Assistant Professor of Persian and Persian Literature at New York University, and is the author of numerous articles on contemporary Persian Literature as well as two novels written in his native Persian.
